Research Details

Helen's current work draws together her research interests - in the responses of universities to funding changes for the sector and its students and the policy implications of their resulting actions - with her previous professional experience in university communications and undergraduate admissions.  Her most recent publication (Everything for Sale? The Marketisation of UK Higher Education, Roger Brown with Helen Carasso (Routledge:SRHE, 2013)) reviews the substantial changes in funding that the sector has experienced since 1979 and considers their implications for institutions, their students and the provision of higher education nationally.

Helen also acts as a consultant to individual institutions, in areas of strategic planning, student recruitment, marketing and communications.
