Research Focus
Didactics, i.e. theories and practices of teaching and learning: cross-curricular teaching and learning, integration of learning at school and at the workplace, self-regulated learning, new methods of teaching and learning (e.g. e-learning, blended learning). Teachers` professional development: reforms in teacher education such as new forms of organising teacher education (e.g. modularisation); individualisation of teachers’ professional development; standardisation; portfolios as an instrument in teacher education. Research in research projects: methodological, philosophical, practical issues in conducting qualitative social research, research methodologies, pilot projects, design-based research. Institutional aspects of vocational education and training (VET): political and institutional cooperation and coordination processes in the field of VET, steering mechanisms, organisation of VET, knowledge management in schools, new forms of organising VET (e.g.additional qualifications, modularisation), outcome-oriented curricula and educational standards. Human resource education, in-company training: teaching and learning in enterprises, qualification of trainers, human resource management.
